About Twelfth Night

by William Shakespeare
Directed by Rosa Joshi

Shipwrecked and cast adrift in the romantic, eccentric world of Illyria, Viola disguises herself as a boy and quickly finds favor with—and falls for—the lovesick Orsino, who pines for Lady Olivia, who takes a shine to Orsino’s page, Cesario (who is actually Viola in disguise). Their romantic imbroglio ensnares all of Illyria before it is finally—and joyfully—disentangled. This buoyant and poignant comedy about identity and desire makes us think about our basic human need to know each other and ourselves more deeply. Director Rosa Joshi’s Twelfth Night brings a welcome shot of joy and connection in these socially distanced days.

Run Time: 2 hours 15 minutes, including one 15-minute intermission

Content Advisory: This play is a comedy but also deals with grief and loss.
